Somerley House

Somerley House and its gardens sit high up over looking hundreds of acres of parkland. Winding its way through this beautiful parkland is the well known river Avon which stretches the full length of the 7,000 acre estate. This beautiful house, designed by Samuel Wyatt in 1750, has been in the Normanton family for five generations since it was bought by The 2nd Earl in 1825.

Somerley House and grounds are not open to the public and remain the private residence of Lord and Lady Somerton. There are, however, opportunities for you to experience the wonders of Somerley on a strictly exclusive basis. The Estate has been hosting a variety of events for many years that are tailor-made to suit the individual requirements of the client. The ability and experience to offer unique corporate entertainment, meeting and conference facilities, elegant fine dining and much more make this an exceptional venue.

Somerley also offers an exciting and challenging 4×4 course available to test any off-road vehicle. The course is laid out in the woodland next to the Park, and can offer a 7 or 8 mile route.

The Estate benefits from a second venue still within the parkland on the edge of the River Avon located on the site of the original house at Somerley. Known as Old Somerley the venue offers a 2 acre walled garden ideal for marquees and team building exercises, along with a garden room perfect for parties and conferences.

Somerley offers total privacy and with eight bedrooms available, business professionals can take over the exclusive use of the house during the week, or at weekends, to do serious business negotiations in the gracious surroundings of the State Rooms.

The in-house team will provide the most discerning guest with immaculate service, exquisite cuisine and fine wine, and total discretion. A private stately home becomes your Board Room.

The Gallery provides an exclusive venue for business conferences, seating up to 200 people theatre-style, surrounded by spectacular paintings and antique porcelain.
